Set 1: Butterflies

Reading: Students will be able to read about the life cycle of butterflies and answer the questions.

Vocabulary: Students will be able to identify synonyms for the butterfly vocabulary words.

Writing: Students will be able to write their opinion and supply reasons about whether or not butterflies make great pets.

Math: Students will be able to identify even and odd numbers.

Science: Students will be able to create a home for a caterpillar that will meet all it's needs.

Social Studies: Students will be able to write a law about protecting insects.

Set 2: Frogs

Reading: Students will be able to read about the life cycle of frogs and answer the questions.

Vocabulary: Students will be able to read each sentence and will choose the correct antonym for each of the bold print frog vocabulary words.

Writing: Students will write a short narrative with a frog as the main character. Students will include a beginning, middle, and end and will write with details to describe actions, thoughts, and feelings.

Math: Students will be able to skip count by 2's, 5's, and 10's.

Science: Students will be able to create a way to filter water so tadpoles and frogs and live and thrive in a clean water environment.

Social Studies: Students will be able to explain how frogs are useful to humans and will identify ways to keep frogs safe.

Set 3: Plants

Reading: Students will be able to read about the life cycle of plants and answer the questions.

Vocabulary: Students will be able to read the sentences and will use the word bank to write the synonym for each of the bold words.

Writing: Students will correct the sentences by capitalizing proper nouns.

Math: Students will be able to compare numbers up to 100.

Science: Students will read about polar plants and will use online resources to research information about polar plants to answer the questions about their favorite one.

Social Studies: Students will be able to read about rain forests and will explain what they can do to keep rain forests safe.

Set 4: Chickens

Reading: Students will be able to read about the life cycle of chickens and answer the questions.

Vocabulary: Students will be able to read the sentence and fill in the blank with the correct synonym for the bold print chicken vocabulary words.

Writing: Students will be able to write a friendly letter from a chicken's point of view to the farmer about the chicken's experiences on the farm.

Math: Students will be able to solve word problems involving adding numbers up to 100 with composing/regrouping.

Science: Students will design a contraption to hold an egg in so it won't break when dropped from 5 feet in the air.

Social Studies: Students will be able to identify needs vs. wants.

Set 5: Bees

Reading: Students will be able to read about the life cycle of bees and answer the questions.

Vocabulary: Students will be able to read each sentence and will use the word bank to write the antonym for the bold print vocabulary word about bees.

Writing: Students will be able to identify and correctly use proper nouns and verbs.

Math: Students will be able to solve word problems involving subtracting numbers within 100 with decomposing/regrouping.

Science: Students will use the table to compare and contrasts bees and wasps.

Social Studies: Students will identify how the resources we gain from bees benefit us in our everyday lives.
