Fractangles: (Partner Activity) Students build array pictures based on clue cards.

Comparing Fractions:

Comparing Fractions: Like & Unlike Denominators using <, >, and =

Equivalent Fractions:

Equivalent Fractions Builder: Students will determine equivalent fractions.

Fractions on a Number Line:

Fraction Number Lines: 0-1 (Blank) Halves through Tenths

Fraction Number Lines: 0-1 (Determine the Fraction) Halves through Tenths

Number Line Talks: Students compare and contrast number lines using Venn-Diagrams, increasing in complexity.

Adding Fractions:

Sum Fractions: Unit Fractions: Students will determine a fraction by piecing together decomposed unit fractions.

Parts of a Whole: Students use linking cubes to decompose a whole, using sums of 2, 3, or 4 fractional tenths.

Fraction Makers & Bakers; Students will read recipes and answer fraction related questions.

Subtracting Fractions:

Parts of a Whole: Students will use linking cubes to determine differences of fractions. (denominators include: tenths, fifteenths, and twentieths)

Word Problems: 3 sets of subtraction words problems with 2 tiers of difficulty.

Rolling the Difference: Students will use a dice to generate the numerator in subtraction problems.

Mixed Numbers:

Improper Fraction War! (Partner Game) Students will race to compare improper fractions

Rolling Along: (With Dice) Students will solve addition and subtraction mixed number problems.

Equivalent Improper and Mixed Numbers Sort: Students will cut/paste equivalent improper and mixed numbers.

Multiplying Fractions:

Fraction Frenzy: (Partner Game) Students will use dominoes and dice to generate multiplication problems, then race to solve.

Word Problems: There are 3 sets of multiplication word problems, each with 2 tiers of difficulty.

Exemplars:

Like and Unlike Denominators: There are 5 sets EACH of tired fractions of a set exemplars.

*****4 Area & Perimeter Kinesthetic and Spatial Set*****

City Map Planning:

This is differentiated for readiness

Level 1: Building footprints include areas whose factors are under 8. Students need to include 6 building icons on their map. Footprints are shown in rectangular array form only.

Level 2: Building footprints include areas whose factors are under 11. Students need to include 6 building icons on their map and 2 duplicates. Footprints are shown to include polygons with 4 or more sides.

Level 3: Building footprints include areas whose factors are under 13. Students need to include 6 building icons on their map and 3 duplicates. Footprints are shown to include polygons with more than 4 sides.

This pack includes:

* Student Recording Sheet (2 sided)

* Student City Map

* Building Icons (With products levels as listed above)

(Color Version and B/W Included)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pentominoes:

After students have become familiar with pentominoes, they will complete the task cards using a set of pentominoes and record their answers.

Level 1:

Solve for the perimeter values of the 12 pentomino tiles. Solve for perimeter values of 2 pentominoes put together.

Level 2:

Solve for perimeter values of 3 or more pentominoes put together.

Level 3 Challenge: For an extra challenge for your visually spatial students, encourage them to find solutions to one of the pentomino challenges, then find the perimeter.

This pack includes:

* Drawing Pentominoes Activity

* Pentominoes Challenge Activity Card

* Level 1 Task Cards with answer sheet (18)

* Level 2 Task Cards with answer sheet (12- including 1 summative writing)

* 12 Gray/Black Outlined Pentominoes

* 12 Color Pentominoes

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chicken Coop:

Students role play that they work for an advertising firm that is creating a brochure for a farm equipment distribution company that sells chicken coops.

Their task is to create a brochure to highlight examples of chicken coop sizes that can be made with a given perimeter. Each level of difficulty has a different given perimeter. All students will be determining area.

* Level 1: Students are only working with rectangles.

* Level 2: Students work with polygons including up to 2 rectangles.

* Level 3: Students work with polygons including up to 1 rectangle. They will also determine the number of chickens that can live in each given coop.

There is a short writing component as well on the brochure. Brochures are printed 2-sided.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Leprechaun Gardens:

In this pack, you have two different learning styles to choose from:

* Bodily/Kinesthetic

* Visual/Spatial

Students will be planing 6 rectangular garden plots using either grid paper (visual/spatial) or math manipulatives (kinesthetic). Both activities center around the same skill, but in slightly different ways.

A writing page at the end gives students the opportunity to write a letter to the Lucky Leprechauns explaining where they think they garden should be planted.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Multiplication & Division Logic Cards (Winter Themed):

Students are challenged to solve for unknowns in these Christmas and winter themed multiple and division leveled balanced equations logic cards. Hi Cara! Thanks for sharing your experience! Currently, I price my larger bundles 20% off the total of all resources included in the set. Details about what is included along with previews are available for each individual set. I created this set after I'd made several area and perimeter and fraction resources that cover 3rd and 4th standards, hoping it would be helpful to have things in one place. Please let me know if you found something unclear in my description. (spiveysparks@gmail.com) I will add to this bundle as I create more resources that meet the 3rd/4th criteria. I just added a Geometry Vocabulary set to this bundle. You can download this update in your purchase tab. All the Best, Stephanie Spivey

Jennifer, thank you for sharing how you’re planning to use this resource!!! Guided math is exactly what I had in mind- and and I’ve used several of these tasks- when I designed them.
