Description

Math dictionaries, notebooks, journals help students keep track of vocabulary, concepts, and ideas, as well as making it easy for them to be responsible for their learning and provide a showpiece for parents. Also a dictionary makes it easy for student to review key concepts for testing. This dictionary contains blank pages from A-Z, as well as 24 ready-to-print black and white foldables to glue in, covering these common core topics: patterns, rounding, multiplying by 10 and 100, fact families, finding unknown, fractions, time, measuring length, measuring mass & volume, graphs, line plots, polygons, quadrilaterals, area & perimeter, ways to multiply, ways to divide, multiplication properties, ways to add, and ways to subtract.

FYI - As I need more foldables for my class I will add onto this file, so this product will grow.

How can I use this product?

As you summarize key concepts in math, using scissors and glue, students create the foldables and put them into their dictionary. You can also have students write directly in their dictionary. There are also six JPGs for blank foldables for you to create your own. The dictionary can be used as a whole class activity, groups, or as a math center.

NOTE: Of course you can use the foldables separately in your own interactive journal or notebook.

I love this resource. I am able to use it for centers and my students are hitting concepts that we already touched on! My students love that its requiring them to do more than just fill out a worksheet!

Tell and write time to the nearest minute and measure time intervals in minutes. Solve word problems involving addition and subtraction of time intervals in minutes, e.g., by representing the problem on a number line diagram.
Measure and estimate liquid volumes and masses of objects using standard units of grams (g), kilograms (kg), and liters (l). Add, subtract, multiply, or divide to solve one-step word problems involving masses or volumes that are given in the same units, e.g., by using drawings (such as a beaker with a measurement scale) to represent the problem.
Draw a scaled picture graph and a scaled bar graph to represent a data set with several categories. Solve one- and two-step “how many more” and “how many less” problems using information presented in scaled bar graphs. For example, draw a bar graph in which each square in the bar graph might represent 5 pets.
