The games are playable with the whole class together, or you can play them with small groups. All questions and answers are included. This bundle is Grade 7 Math, Math Problems in Art & Design. It is a digital resource, no printouts required.

Click on any of the individual products for specific videos and examples of questions and answers.

Below are the instructions for each game type.

JOKERS WILD is a No Prep review game where students get to draw a card from the deck for their poker hand when they answer the questions correctly. Beware though, if you get the answer wrong, the other team gets to draw a card from your hand.

How It Works:

  • The games run in PowerPoint, and you can edit the questions and answers if you like.
  • Make 2 teams, and get a deck of cards, including jokers.
  • Take turns choosing questions to answer.
  • Check the response against the answer, which is shown on the next slide.
  • If answer is correct: that team draws a card from the deck.
  • If wrong: the other team draws a card from their deck.
  • Tap SHOW POKER HANDS to see the order of poker hands.
  • Once all questions are answered, the team with the best 5 card poker hand is the winner.
  • Questions vary in difficulty and the answer is provided after each question.

Sorry is a No Prep game where teams earn points for answering questions correctly! Be warned, get it wrong and your opponents get your points! If you answer a Sorry Question then reset your opponent’s score to ZERO!

How It Works:

  • The game runs entirely on PowerPoint, and you can edit the questions and answers if you like.
  • Make 2 teams, and choose one to go first.
  • Take turns choosing questions to answer.
  • If the answer is correct, then tap your digits to add a point to your score.
  • If the answer is incorrect, then add a point to your opponent’s score.
  • There are 3 optional Sorry Questions.
  • If you answer correctly, then tap Sorry to reset your opponent’s score to ZERO.
  • If the answer is incorrect, then reset your own score to ZERO.
  • Questions vary in difficulty and the answer is provided after each question.
  • Highest score wins

Grudgeball is a No Prep review game where students answer correctly to fire their cannon at other ships, and make baskets to earn additional shots!

How It Works:

  • The game runs in PowerPoint, and you can edit the questions and answers if you like.
  • Make 4 teams, and set up a trash can/basket, and up to 2 shooting positions.
  • The closest shooting position is worth 2 points, and the furthest away is 3.
  • Take turns choosing questions in any order, and answering them.
  • Check the answer given against the answer, which is shown on the next slide.
  • If correct, the team gets to fire 2 shots against any other ships by tapping the number above them.
  • In addition, they get to toss once from any position to earn additional shots.
  • Once a team is sunk, they can get a lifeboat by answering correct at their turn AND making a 3 point shot.
  • The game is over once there is only one team left floating.
  • Questions vary in difficulty and the answer is provided after each question.

These games will run on:

  • iPads that run PowerPoint (free app)
  • Smartboards
  • Projectors
  • Desktops
  • Laptops
  • Any device that runs PowerPoint

These games can be played together as a class using a smartboard/projector, or it can be played by individuals and small groups on iPads or computers that run PowerPoint.

No additional licenses required for the students in your class!

All of the images and colors are included just as you see it. Each user needs to purchase their own license, and the files may not be shared or sold to anyone, but you are free to make as many versions as you like for your own use.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

  • These games run on PowerPoint, and will not run on Google Slides
  • A very small number of schools disable the animations and hyperlinks in their PowerPoint.
  • The solution to this is to use a different device, such as a laptop or tablet that runs PowerPoint.

Use variables to represent quantities in a real-world or mathematical problem, and construct simple equations and inequalities to solve problems by reasoning about the quantities.
Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them. Mathematically proficient students start by explaining to themselves the meaning of a problem and looking for entry points to its solution. They analyze givens, constraints, relationships, and goals. They make conjectures about the form and meaning of the solution and plan a solution pathway rather than simply jumping into a solution attempt. They consider analogous problems, and try special cases and simpler forms of the original problem in order to gain insight into its solution. They monitor and evaluate their progress and change course if necessary. Older students might, depending on the context of the problem, transform algebraic expressions or change the viewing window on their graphing calculator to get the information they need. Mathematically proficient students can explain correspondences between equations, verbal descriptions, tables, and graphs or draw diagrams of important features and relationships, graph data, and search for regularity or trends. Younger students might rely on using concrete objects or pictures to help conceptualize and solve a problem. Model with mathematics. Mathematically proficient students can apply the mathematics they know to solve problems arising in everyday life, society, and the workplace. In early grades, this might be as simple as writing an addition equation to describe a situation. In middle grades, a student might apply proportional reasoning to plan a school event or analyze a problem in the community. By high school, a student might use geometry to solve a design problem or use a function to describe how one quantity of interest depends on another. Mathematically proficient students who can apply what they know are comfortable making assumptions and approximations to simplify a complicated situation, realizing that these may need revision later. They are able to identify important quantities in a practical situation and map their relationships using such tools as diagrams, two-way tables, graphs, flowcharts and formulas. They can analyze those relationships mathematically to draw conclusions.
