Description

Based on Donalyn Miller's book, "The Book Whisperer", I created this reader's journal as a place for students to log the books they had read and reflect as their reading challenge progressed.

Why use Google Slides for this product?

This product is perfect for your digital classroom makeover. Students can each be given a copy on Google Classroom. This gives you access to all of their journals (WITH NO BULKY PAPERS OR NOTEBOOKS TO DRAG AROUND!!) It also allows the students to engage with this journal wherever they may be if they have a device with them, which let's be honest, many kids in this day in age do! Now you can give them their "reading journal" in a way that they can't lose, easily have access to in or out of school.

4 Options To Choose From Once Downloaded to Google Drive

  1. Traditional 40 Book Challenge Requirements (Donalyn Miller)- Not Editable
  2. My personal 40 Book Challenge Requirements- Not Editable
  3. Blank 40 Book Challenge- Edit and Customize to fit your needs
  4. Blank Book Challenge- Edit and Customize to fit your needs and the size of your Book Challenge

There are now 4 options you have to choose from, so you can pick the one you would like to use, and delete the other options before you assign! There is a traditional 40 Book Challenge (Donalyn Miller's requirements), my personal requirements I use in my own class, a customizable 40 book challenge to determine your own genres and book requirements, and a more generic challenge you can customize to fit a different size book genre (example: 25 Book Challenge)

Since you will have access to the file, you can always re-download and use a different version any time that you would like. This makes this very easy to use over your career and for different classes and different needs! Easy to differentiate within your classes- Set different goals for different students if you would like!

You asked for editable and It has been updated to include:

Look through the 4 options you have, and pick the one you would like to use, and delete the other options before you assign.

Since you have access to the file now, you can always redownload and use a different version. This makes this very easy to use over your career and for different classes and different needs!
