Description

A fun piece that’s playable on one octave, diatonic glockenspiels.

It is based on “Mattachins” (sometimes known as “Sword Dance”), which is one of the dance tunes found in Thoinot Arbeau's Orchésographie and most famously used by Peter Warlock (1894-1930) for the finale of “Capriol”. It was Warlock's version that provided the inspiration for "A Glocky Dance".

The prevew audio file is the whole piece, all 1'40" of it...

"A Glocky Dance" is scored one-octave diatonic glockenspiels in three parts, for those of differing skill levels:

  • Glockenspiel 1 carries the tunes and is designed to be repetitive, so once learned it can be used again.

  • Glockenspiel 2 is an inner harmony/counter melody line and is for those players who can handle something more than just the tune so can providing the harmonic variation and interest .

  • Glockenspiel 3 is for those students who can only handle a few, easy, slow changing notes.

What is in the Pack?

  • The Full Score and Parts
  • An MP3 of the piece.
