Description
What is Rocket Recorders?
This is the fourth and last book in the fun, graduated system to inspire students to learn the descant/soprano recorder at their own pace. If desired, a positive reinforcement incentive scheme can easily be created to work with this program.
About the Series and What is New in Book 4?
There are four books in this series, each adding more notes and challenges for the students. After finishing Book 3, they should have a good set of skills in recorder playing and know the notes G, A, B, C and D, Low D, E, F G# Bb and C#.
This book adds the lows of C, Db and Eb and the highs D#, E, F, F# and G
Why so many new notes?
We added these notes because notes that are an octave higher usually have the same fingering as the lower note, except that the thumb hole is “pinched” i.e. it’s half-open; the D#’s, E’s and G’s are exactly the same fingering, apart from the “pinch”.
As the students are now learning about more notes and more complex rhythms, this has opened up the possibility of playing some more of the fantastic melodies by the greats. Once again, we have provided backing tracks to aid the students in learning the pieces, as well as giving them the opportunity to play the pieces in a more musical atmosphere.

Does each child need a copy?
Buying this publication allows you photocopy enough booklets for your own class. This is why we made this such a small book; each version is just 5 double-sided sheets of Letter or A4 paper.
Does each teacher need to buy a copy?
The short answer is... "Yes".
We feel we have made the book affordable for all schools and would ask that you respect the time and work that's gone into this publication and purchase any additional copies.
We hope you enjoy using this resource.
All the best
