Even though there are just 26 letters in the English language there are approximately 44 sounds, which we call phonemes. These 44 sounds are important to understand in order to read and spell. These sounds are outlined in these beautiful posters, which can be referred to as children problem solve their way through reading and writing and understanding the different sounds in the English language.
