Description

Dive into measurement conversions with this exciting Go Fish game! Convert inches, feet, and yards while playing a fun-filled card game. Reinforce measurement skills and make learning a splash!

Played like regular Go Fish, this game includes 3 cards students must find to complete a set (Ex: 36 inches; 1 feet; 1 yard).

This game can be played with 2 levels of play. The first set of cards contains 6 sets that involve converting between 1 yard and 6 yards. The second set contains yards 7-12. Two answer sheets are provided: one for the smaller, partial set and one for the whole set.

Included are 12 sets of cards (a total of 36 cards) for small group or center use; ;directions for students; and two answer keys.

Skills Practiced

-Convert inches, feet, and yards.

CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.4.MD.A.1

Know relative sizes of measurement units within one system of units including km, m, cm; kg, g; lb, oz.; l, ml; hr, min, sec. Within a single system of measurement, express measurements in a larger unit in terms of a smaller unit. Record measurement equivalents in a two-column table. For example, know that 1 ft is 12 times as long as 1 in. Express the length of a 4 ft snake as 48 in. Generate a conversion table for feet and inches listing the number pairs (1, 12), (2, 24), (3, 36), ...
