This fun activity can be used as rounding task cards (CCSS aligned to 3.NBT.1 and 4.NBT.3). Each task card has a rainbow with a number below the rainbow. In the clouds to the left and right are the multiples of 10, 100, or 1,000 that that number comes between. Students must round to determine which multiple it is closer to. This activity would complement any lesson on rounding using a number line.

Students will round to the nearest:

•Ten (2 & 3 digit numbers)

•Hundred (3 & 4 digit numbers)

•Thousand (4 digit numbers)

A student recording sheet and answer key are also provided.
