Description

This is an interactive student facing performance task for students in grade 4. A performance task activity gives the students 5 targeted tasks to complete over the one standard. It allows you to see if the student can apply the skill to different tasks. This is a great option for math workshop and remote learning.

These tasks are over multiplicative comparison. The skills are common core based with real life scenarios.

This Google slide presentation includes teacher directions, answer key and student link to force an individual copy for each student. The students performance tasks include 5 questions, including DOK levels 1 – 3. This is a very rigorous assessment.

The slides are interactive and allow students to type their answers right in the slides and drag objects around. Students will start by putting their name on the first slide. Student directions are included on slide 2 of the student copy. There are also clarifying directions in the speaker notes. Students can share the completed slides back with you so that you may grade and add comments.

Interpret a multiplication equation as a comparison, e.g., interpret 35 = 5 × 7 as a statement that 35 is 5 times as many as 7 and 7 times as many as 5. Represent verbal statements of multiplicative comparisons as multiplication equations.
Multiply or divide to solve word problems involving multiplicative comparison, e.g., by using drawings and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem, distinguishing multiplicative comparison from additive comparison.
