What is the 4S Strategy?
The 4S Strategy is a simple, structured, and student-friendly approach to solving two-digit math problems. It includes four key steps:

• Stack – Stack the numbers vertically, lining up the place values
• Split – Break apart the numbers using place value (tens and ones)
• Show – Show your thinking with a drawing, model, or number sentence
• Solve – Solve the problem carefully and double-check your work

This strategy makes problem-solving less intimidating and helps students understand the "why" behind each step.
