Description
Students will address the 4th Grade CCSS Math standards of “Operations and Algebraic Thinking” 4.OA, standards 1-5. This includes a total of 100 problems:
4.OA.A.1 - Problems 1-20
4.OA.A.2 - Problems 21-40
4.OA.A.3 - Problems 41-60
4.OA.B.4 - Problems 61-80
4.OA.C.5 - Problems 81-100
These problems are designed to sometimes be easy, sometimes hard, and in some cases absolutely challenging. Whenever possible, real-world numbers have been used in order to develop not just mathematical skill, but a mathematical maturity in relation to the real world. This problem set is suited to 4th-6th grade, with proficient and advanced proficient 4th graders having access to many of the problems, 5th graders working at a proficient level having access to many of the problems, and 6th graders working at proficient or less than proficient level and needing extra practice to catch up with their peers. The problem set is very different than the typical word problems found in many of the text books and will not only challenge the students, but will encourage them to use any and all problem solving skills at their disposal.
