Description
This is a no prep math center that can be used as a center activity, formative assessment, intervention guided practice (or independent practice), or a supplement to your math instruction.
This center will allow your students to work on 4th grade addition concepts, specifically 4.NBT.B.4 which is to build fluency in addition with the standard algorithm.
With your purchase of this resource, you will get:
⭐️ For the teacher:
- Google folder with original student file (not editable) .
- Teacher directions pdf file with forced copy link that you can share directly with your students. This will create a file in their Google Drive that they can later share with you, or upload to your LMS for quick and easy grading (Canvas, etc).
- Teacher answer key (shown as completed student file with all bundling and answers).
- I've also included a printable pdf file of the student work pages as well as the answer key pages if you choose to use as task cards.
⭐️ For the student - student file includes:
- 28 total slides
- 1 page of directions
- 24 find the sum using the standard addition algorithm problems. All have bundling boxes above the top addend, and answer boxes below the equal sign. Problems vary in difficulty.
- 2 pages of check your work (answer key without bundling boxes on last two slides for students). If you don't want this on the student copy, then delete the last two slides (in the master slide) before assigning the forced copy code link to your students.
Students will be typing into a text boxes and moving pieces to answer the questions while the rest of the document is protected. There are explicit directions on the first slide as well as each slide of the student file for how to complete each problem.
The center link you'll give your students will force them to make a copy that will save directly to their own Google Drive. When they're done, they can share it directly with you so you can check their work! It's super easy for you, and fun for your students!
See preview to assess the quality of this product before purchase. Please reach out with any question by going to the Q & A tab in my store, or by scrolling to the bottom of this page and selecting ask a question.
Important tip:
Make sure your student clicks the copy file button ONE time, and waits until the file loads. Otherwise, for each click, they will make one new file in their drive. I always like to have my students name the copy of file with their name before the file name as well. This way, if they make an additional copy, they know exactly which one they edited.
Other ideas for using this resource in your classroom:
You could also print the master file out and laminate them as an independent task card center activity and have students use dry erase markers to answer the questions.
You could also assign this as a race where students are put in pairs. The goal would be to see who finishes faster or has the most correct answers.
For use by the purchasing teacher only. Additional licenses are available at a discounted rate in my store. Only post on password protected learning management systems (Canvas, Google Classroom, etc.).
This is a new resource, please let me know if you see any errors. I will fix it right away and send you a notification email when it's complete. Thank you so much!!!
