Description
This editable powerpoint can be used in alignment with the Chapter 4 Go Math curriculum. It focuses on: chapter 4 vocabulary, basic fact strategies, estimating quotients, interpreting the remainders, dividing tens/hundreds/thousands, and the standard long division algorithm. Instead of using the traditional bring down strategy, I teach my students to move the remainder to the next place value by placing the digit in front of the next digit.
Two Notes:
*I did not teach divide using repeated subtraction (4.7) or partial quotients (4.8) to my whole group so those lessons aren't included in the powerpoint. You can easily add if you wanted!
* For learning the long division strategy- I broke it down daily by starting with 2-digit dividends, 3-digit dividends, and 4-digit dividends so that's how you will see it in the powerpoint. You can change the title of the slides to match how you progress through the lessons.
