4TH GRADE GO MATH MID-CHAPTER QUIZ - CHAPTER 2

I created a supplementary quiz to compliment each chapter of the Go Math 4th grade curriculum. Each quiz is modeled closely after the "Mid-Chapter Checkpoint" assessment found in the corresponding chapter of the Go Math student edition. All question types are identical, although the questions themselves are different.

Most importantly, I designed these quizzes to be VISUALLY similar to the versions found in students' textbooks, enhancing students' ability to retrieve the necessary information from their long-term memory. As a result, I have seen my students become more confident in their mathematical abilities, and their test scores have skyrocketed!

I created these quizzes because I LOVE the idea of the Mid-Chapter Checkpoint, but most years I have found that students need a little additional practice before they are ready to move on. I have been teaching with Go Math for the past 5 years and have found these quizzes to be so incredibly useful in so many different ways! They can be used as study guides, morning work, homework, or even used for quiz retakes. My favorite way to use them is by assigning the Mid-Chapter Checkpoint as a study guide, reviewing it together in class, then giving this quiz the next day.

I hope you find these quizzes to be just as useful in your own classroom! Check back soon for more 4th Grade Go Math Quizzes! :)

I like using these tests instead of the tests provided in the GoMath! book as they are condensed and test the skill and mastery rather than stressing students out completing multiple problems.

Multiply a whole number of up to four digits by a one-digit whole number, and multiply two two-digit numbers, using strategies based on place value and the properties of operations. Illustrate and explain the calculation by using equations, rectangular arrays, and/or area models.
Interpret a multiplication equation as a comparison, e.g., interpret 35 = 5 × 7 as a statement that 35 is 5 times as many as 7 and 7 times as many as 5. Represent verbal statements of multiplicative comparisons as multiplication equations.
Multiply or divide to solve word problems involving multiplicative comparison, e.g., by using drawings and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem, distinguishing multiplicative comparison from additive comparison.
