4th Grade Math Preview/Review: Week One
Share

Description

Math Preview/Review ("MPR") addresses many of the Common Core State Standards and reviews skills on a daily basis to help students maintain fluency in addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and other skills that can easily be forgotten if not constantly revisited. These daily assignments also preview skills that will be required later on in the school year. This helps students develop familiarity with those skills before being asked to master them in the course of a few days.

This is the first week of my math program. It contains an assignment for each of the first four days of the week and a quiz for Friday. I have included an answer key for the quiz.

The daily assignments can be displayed on interactive white boards, overheads, or used with document cameras to reduce the number of pages required to be run on a daily basis. My students copy the problems directly from the board into their math notebooks and then correct the problems with me. Although I primarily use the assignments for the morning warm-up, they can be used as nightly homework as well.

My fourth grade team and I have been using Math Preview/Review for many years with great results.

This was an excellent way to give my students work they could complete independently and with confidence! Many of my students are working below grade level but they are hard workers and they loved this review! Great way to get them thinking about those foundational math skills!
