What others say

"This was a huge help in preparing for end of year testing. My students loved getting signatures on the cards for completion and the slides made it easy to reteach. It was nice to have something paced and with all components to review for EOGs. "

"This is a great resource that I was able to customize for whatever content we were currently on. It gave students a purpose for what they were supposed to be doing and what to do next. Students really liked being on a "team" but had to keep themselves responsible to help their team."

Description

If you feel anxious about state testing, these PowerPoint lessons and stations will put you at ease with a little TEAM-work! These activities review almost all 4th grade standards, especially the more difficult topics and power standards students need to review. They are teacher-tested and student-approved as I have used them with my own 4th graders! Plus, they can be used ALL YEAR LONG--not just during test prep season. Download the preview for more details!

**UPDATED 2/28/26: The PowerPoints are now editable!

The 4 PowerPoint lessons cover the following skills:

  • Day 1: Add & Subtract Mixed Numbers, Line Plots, Fractions & Decimals
  • Day 2: 2-D Figures, Measure Angles, Units of Measure
  • Day 3: Multi-Step Word Problems, Place Value Relationships, Patterns
  • Day 4: Factors & Multiples, Prime & Composite Numbers, Equivalent Fractions, and Compare Fractions

The mini-lessons include test-taking tips to prepare students for the types of questions they will encounter. After the lessons, you will break into TEAM-work stations. Students will have a TEAM-work choice board with the activities listed.

Teacher Check Station:

✎ Your job is to check in with students and help as needed. Your students will be working on challenging concepts and will need your help. Because of this, I do not recommend pulling small groups during this time.

✎ When you see students staying on task and working hard, you will check their box in the "Teacher Check" column.

Electronics Station: Self-Checking Boom Cards

✎ Area and Perimeter

✎ Long Division

✎ Factors and Multiples

✎ Add and Subtract Fractions and Mixed Numbers

At Your Seat Station: Printable Worksheets (all word problems)

✎ Area and Perimeter

✎ Multiplication (1- and 2-digit) and Division

✎ Multiplicative Comparisons

✎ Interpret the Remainder

Math with a Partner Station: Printable Worksheets

✎ Add and Subtract Mixed Numbers

✎ Place Value Relationships

✎ Rounding Whole Numbers

✎ Multiply Fractions by Whole Numbers

Students will be motivated to earn checks for completing activities, staying on task, and persevering through challenges! Give them a goal, such as 10 points for the week, and a reward for hitting their goal. Class Dojo points? Extra recess? Candy? Whatever works for you!

Because the TEAM-work station board is editable, you can change the activities as needed AND use these Team-work stations ALL YEAR LONG, not just for test prep season.

Additional Resources:

  • TEAM-Work Stations Choice Board
  • 5 Test-Taking Strategy Posters
  • Editable Spreadsheets for Groups
  • Student-Friendly Directions for Stations

Know relative sizes of measurement units within one system of units including km, m, cm; kg, g; lb, oz.; l, ml; hr, min, sec. Within a single system of measurement, express measurements in a larger unit in terms of a smaller unit. Record measurement equivalents in a two-column table. For example, know that 1 ft is 12 times as long as 1 in. Express the length of a 4 ft snake as 48 in. Generate a conversion table for feet and inches listing the number pairs (1, 12), (2, 24), (3, 36),...
Apply the area and perimeter formulas for rectangles in real world and mathematical problems. For example, find the width of a rectangular room given the area of the flooring and the length, by viewing the area formula as a multiplication equation with an unknown factor.
Make a line plot to display a data set of measurements in fractions of a unit (1/2, 1/4, 1/8). Solve problems involving addition and subtraction of fractions by using information presented in line plots. For example, from a line plot find and interpret the difference in length between the longest and shortest specimens in an insect collection.
