Math dictionaries, notebooks, journals help students keep track of vocabulary, concepts, and ideas, as well as making it easy for them to be responsible for their learning and provide a showpiece for parents. Also a dictionary makes it easy for student to review key concepts for testing. This dictionary contains blank pages from A-Z, as well as 24 ready-to-print black and white foldables to glue in, covering these common core topics: patterns, rounding, multiplying by 10 and 100, fact families, finding unknown, fractions, time, measuring length, measuring mass & volume, graphs, line plots, polygons, quadrilaterals, angles, types of triangles, area & perimeter, ways to multiply, ways to divide, multiplication properties, ways to add, and ways to subtract.

How can I use this product?

As you summarize key concepts in math, using scissors and glue, students create the foldables and put them into their dictionary. You can also have students write directly in their dictionary. There are also six JPGs for blank foldables for you to create your own. The dictionary can be used as a whole class activity, groups, or as a math center.

NOTE: Of course you can use the foldables separately in your own interactive journal or notebook.

Within a single system of measurement, express measurements in a larger unit in terms of a smaller unit. Record measurement equivalents in a two-column table. Use the four operations to solve word problems involving distances, intervals of time, liquid volumes, masses of objects, and money, including problems involving simple fractions or decimals, and problems that require expressing measurements given in a larger unit in terms of a smaller unit. Represent measurement quantities using diagrams such as number line diagrams that feature a measurement scale.
Apply the area and perimeter formulas for rectangles in real world and mathematical problems. For example, find the width of a rectangular room given the area of the flooring and the length, by viewing the area formula as a multiplication equation with an unknown factor.
