Enrich and enhance your students' vocabulary with this no-prep, easy-to-use resource! Save precious time with this set of 50 VOCABULARY spring-themed task cards. They're available in print, but also digitally in Google Slides and (self-checking) Google Forms. Use for centers, early/fast finishers, as review, quiz / assessment, exit ticket...the possibilities are endless.
I am a firm believer in time management, I think it can do wonders. That’s why for the past couple of years I began using task cards on a daily basis. Not finding the exact type I wanted, made me create some of my own, and after using them for many years, I think they are student proof enough to be posted here, on TeachersPayTeachers.
The aim of this resource is to save you precious time, they are easy to assign and have endless uses.
This Spring themed Vocabulary Task Cards tackle a wide variety of areas such as:
-definitions and meanings of words;
-synonyms, antonyms, homophones, homonyms;
-rhyming words;
-as beginning sounds;
-words in context (using context clues);
-prefixes and suffixes;
-root words;
-compound words
-word origin.
I strive to teach my little ones at least one new word every day, using this task cards set has helped me achieve this goal. They have enriched their vocabulary with some very interesting winter related words.
“Words are the currency of communication.”
The majority of these cards focus on winter weather and activities. A few mention winter holidays such as Easter or April Fool's Day, but the focus is on the season, not the specific holidays.
Included:
The Print version is available in black and white format, but there is also a color version available.
There are 4 cards on every page, the cards are numbered and there are guidelines to cut each card.
I recommend laminating the cards for durability.
The Digital Version is available in Google Slides – there are 50 Google Slides included.
Use:
The uses are really endless, that’s why I mentioned that they’re the perfect time savers, they’re literally ready to use in minutes. I will list below some of the (many) ways in which you can use them.
-for centers;
-early / fast finishers;
-as exit tickets;
-they work for small groups, whole class, with a partner, or even individually
- for revision;
-assessment, quiz;
