Description
The Tortoise and The Hare is a great Mini Musical for younger grades. It allows for the teaching of untuned percussion instruments. It also has only two simple tunes for children to learn and sing. The excitement comes from differences in how these tunes are played as the Mini Musical progresses.
- A video of the premier perfomance is available here, on Youtube
- The audio preview is the video sound track.

About the score and performance
The score is just simple piano and vocals. Percussion plays a large role in this piece so rather than dictate what to use and when, we felt it was better for the teacher to use any percussion as he or she felt was best . In our performance, whenever the kids sang, they played along as well.
