Description

This 5th Grade 5 week daily math review/test prep was designed to keep math concepts fresh and to prepare students for the end of year test. All questions were taken from previous tests so students can familiarize themselves with questions they may encounter. I have spent the last 6 years tweaking this format and to show proof that using them work.

My first year as a 5th grade math teacher I took students that got 34% proficiency the year before to 53% and the 2nd year to 82%...this current year on my students most recent NWEA/Map test they showed 146% growth, well above the other 5th grade math teacher at my school who showed only 63% growth who was not using my Do Now Review/Quiz system (she started using my method shortly after and her most recent NWEA/Map score went from 63% to 201% growth.)

If you’re looking for growth and student success on the end of year math test and only have 5 weeks left to prepare your students but still need to teach new skills at the same time then look no further…you can start using my Do Now Reviews and Weekly Do Now Quizzes to get your students ready to succeed. To help you prepare even further for next year start using my yearlong Do Now Review/Test Prep with Weekly Quiz package which I will be updating and will have ready by early to mid-summer.

What’s included:

· 5 weeks of Do Now Daily Review and 5 weekly Quizzes

  • 4 days’ worth of questions each week (average 3 or more questions per day)
  • 1 weekly quiz each week (5 questions plus bonus question)
  • Answer key provided
  • Great mix of real test questions students will encounter in their end of year 5th grade math test.
  • Condensed format (to SAVE paper) while still providing plenty of space for students to show their work.
  • 2-sided copy and day of the week labeled (Monday-Thursday) makes it easy for students to use as well as keep number of copies required down (saving teachers not only paper but also copies)

Why You Will Love It!

  • Make’s daily review predictable and allows for students to be exposed to multiple standards daily to keep their skills sharp.
  • These daily Do Now Reviews are meaningful and take less than a total of 15 minutes each day. (6 minutes timed for students and up to 9 minutes to review as a whole class)
  • Allows students to see their own growth with end of week Do Now Quiz that shows how much students retained and keeps them excited about learning.
  • Teachers can easily see student progress, where they are struggling.
  • Teachers can not only continue to teach students new skills leading up to testing day but also review and practice timing over the 5 weeks leading up to test day.
  • Proven results…I personally have been using these Do Now Reviews I have created and updated each year for the last 6 years and my students’ scores are proof that they work.

***Do you want more than just 5 weeks then check out my 2nd semester Do Now Review/Test Prep with Weekly Quizzes which covers 15 weeks.
