About the Differentiated Math Printables

Here are the skills represented in this resource (remember there are three levels per skill):

  1. Measurement Conversions (5.MD.1)
  2. Line Plots (5.MD.2)
  3. Volume (Cubic Units) (5.MD.3-4)
  4. Volume with Formula (5.MD.5)
  5. Additive Volume (5.MD.5)
  6. Coordinate Grids (5.G.1)
  7. Real World Graphing on Coordinate Grids (5.G.2)
  8. 2-D Shapes (5.G.3)
  9. 2-D Shape Hierarchy (5.G.4)

For each skill, there are THREE levels of skill sheets. Within each level, there are TWO practice pages. There are a total of 54 printables included among the three levels.

About the Differentiated Levels:

  • Level 1: Below Grade Level. These printables provide support for the student to complete a grade level problem.
  • Level 2: On Grade Level. These printables provide no additional support.
  • Level 3: Above Grade Level. These printables provide no additional support AND also include an enrichment task or the problems themselves are more challenging.

There are two opportunities for practice per level for each skill (labeled A and B). You can use one as guided practice and assign the other as independent practice or use it as an assessment of the skill.

The printables contain different problems among the levels. You can use all three levels with the students, upping the level as the students increase their mastery levels.

These differentiated math skill sheets could be used for class work, small group work, homework, or even assessments. These are ideal for differentiating for special education students, English language learners, and/or gifted students.

Don’t use CCSS? No problem! The standards are NOT included on the student pages.

Convert among different-sized standard measurement units within a given measurement system (e.g., convert 5 cm to 0.05 m), and use these conversions in solving multi-step, real world problems.
Make a line plot to display a data set of measurements in fractions of a unit (1/2, 1/4, 1/8). Use operations on fractions for this grade to solve problems involving information presented in line plots. For example, given different measurements of liquid in identical beakers, find the amount of liquid each beaker would contain if the total amount in all the beakers were redistributed equally.
Recognize volume as an attribute of solid figures and understand concepts of volume measurement.
