Description
Use it or lose it! This math common core standards assessment tracking sheet is an excellent way to monitor how many times students are exposed to each standard.
In past years, I’ve printed out multiple copies and put them on clipboards. One clipboard was designated for whole group lessons and the others for small group instruction. Every time I taught a standard or included one in a fluency activity, I checked it off. I used this log to monitor which standards I still needed to hit. If a standard had not been taught/practiced multiple times or hadn't been practiced in a while, I’d create a fluency activity to implement in a future lesson.
I found that students were less likely to forget skills and were much better prepared for the end-of-year standardized testing.
