Description

This Unit Test offers real test questions that cover skills learned from Engage NY/Eureka Math Module 3 Lesson鈥檚 1-16. I know that Eureka/Engage NY offers their mid-module and end-of-module tests; however, their test questions do not look like questions students will encounter in their end of year test and that is why I created this and other unit tests. I researched and found previous test questions and practice tests questions that cover the standards students learned in Module 3 Lesson鈥檚 1-16 and created my own unit test for students to take. I also created an answer document so students can practice answering questions and showing their work on the question packet but also learning to remember to place their answers on the answer document as well鈥ll to help prepare them for the end of year test which will require them to do the same. Question types include multiple choice, multiple answers, Fill in Shape, Part A-B, and fill in the blank.

What鈥檚 included:

路 20 questions

o Within those 20 questions you have a total of 21 questions due to Part A-B Questions

o Multi-Step, Multiple Choice, Multiple Answer, Fill in the Blank, Fill in Shape, and Part A-B Question Types

路 Answer Document

路 Answer Key

Why You Will Love It!

o Reviews the following standards: 5.NF.1, 5.NF.2, and 1 question 4.NF.1 (equivalent fractions)

o Teachers can easily see student progress, where they are struggling.

o Allows students to solve real test questions covering their new skills.

Add and subtract fractions with unlike denominators (including mixed numbers) by replacing given fractions with equivalent fractions in such a way as to produce an equivalent sum or difference of fractions with like denominators. For example, 2/3 + 5/4 = 8/12 + 15/12 = 23/12. (In general, 饾槩/饾槪 + 饾槫/饾槬 = (饾槩饾槬 + 饾槪饾槫)/饾槪饾槬.)
Solve word problems involving addition and subtraction of fractions referring to the same whole, including cases of unlike denominators, e.g., by using visual fraction models or equations to represent the problem. Use benchmark fractions and number sense of fractions to estimate mentally and assess the reasonableness of answers. For example, recognize an incorrect result 2/5 + 1/2 = 3/7, by observing that 3/7 < 1/2.
