This bundle of 7 Google Slides place value math lessons is perfect for teaching fifth grade Common Core (CCSS) standards. It includes numbers with decimals from the thousandths place up to the millions place and focuses on powers of ten, reading, writing, comparing, rounding, adding, and subtracting decimals.
Lessons include:
- place value - explores the names of places and value of digits from the thousandths place to the millions place.
- powers or ten - explains multiplying and dividing by powers of ten (10, 100, and 1,000) and shows how to write powers of ten using exponents.
- standard, expanded, and word form - demonstrates how to write numbers with decimals in each of the three forms.
- comparing decimals - reviews greater than, less than, and equal signs and demonstrates how to use place value to compare numbers with decimals.
- rounding decimals - reviews the rounding rules and demonstrates how to round numbers to the nearest tenth or the nearest hundredth.
