This activity reinforces one of the MAJOR content clusters for 5th Grade of understanding the PLACE VALUE System. 5th Graders must be able to recognize that in a multi-digit number, a digit in one place represents 10 times as much as it represents in the place to its right and 1/10 of what it represents in the place to its left. These task cards will help students to master the concept of 10 times as much and 1/10 as much in adjacent place values.

PRINT Directions to the Teacher: Print and cut out cards for students. You may choose to laminate for future use. Make copies of the Recording Sheet for students.
