Comprehensive Expressions Unit aligned with New York State Next Generation Learning Standards (expressions and equations). Unit packet is 49 pages long. Topics include exponents, order of operations (whole numbers, fractions and decimals), algebraic vs numeric expressions, factoring expressions, using distributive property to create equivalent expressions, parts of an expression, combining like terms, simplifying expressions, writing expressions, and substitution. Lessons include learning targets, vocabulary, example problems, leveled practice problems, and word problems. New York State Test Questions are embedded throughout based on skill/concept. Exploratory MidSchoolMath Lessons are embedded throughout, but the unit can be taught without these if you do not have access to this curriculum program (just remove those pages!).
