Topics include area of parallelograms and triangles, decomposing trapezoids, decomposing complex figures, polygons on the coordinate plane, volume (whole numbers, fractions and decimals), volume with unit cubes, nets and surface area. Lessons include learning targets, vocabulary, example problems, leveled practice problems, and word problems. New York State Test Questions are embedded throughout based on skill/concept. Exploratory MidSchoolMath Lessons are embedded throughout, but the unit can be taught without these if you do not have access to this curriculum program (just remove those pages!).
