This worksheet focuses on the Math 7 Common Core Standard 7.EE.4 (mainly part b). With this worksheet, students will practice solving inequalities with integers only. Remember, we need to have students solve inequalities with rational numbers too! Therefore, I plan to use this worksheet after I have taught solving 1 and 2 step inequalities but before incorporating rational numbers.

Some other skills this worksheet helps students with:
- comparing integers
- interpreting inequalities (for example, a solution to x > 1 is not 1)

I included the standards as the cover page for your convenience.

I plan to give this as a homework assignment but it could also be a good classwork activity (either partner/group/independent).

The answer key is provided! Enjoy!

This activity was great. The students were able to back peddle when they made a wrong turn. The maze was very fun and engaging.

I've used this resource two years in a row and it's a favorite of my students. I love that they students have to see which value in the path is a solution to the inequality, which really assesses if they understand what a solution set is, rather than just a solution to an equation. This is an excellent review before our assessment!

Use variables to represent quantities in a real-world or mathematical problem, and construct simple equations and inequalities to solve problems by reasoning about the quantities.
Solve word problems leading to inequalities of the form 𝘱𝘹 + 𝘲 > 𝘳 or 𝘱𝘹 + 𝘲 < 𝘳, where 𝘱, 𝘲, and 𝘳 are specific rational numbers. Graph the solution set of the inequality and interpret it in the context of the problem. For example: As a salesperson, you are paid $50 per week plus $3 per sale. This week you want your pay to be at least $100. Write an inequality for the number of sales you need to make, and describe the solutions.
