Adding Integers with a Different Sign Lesson –Number System

This lesson teaches students how to Add Integers with a Different Sign. Students will be introduced to several methods and strategies to approach the process of adding integers with the Different Signs. These include:

  1. Adding on a Number Line
  2. Modeling using Chips or Counters
  3. Using Absolute Values

Students will practice solving these types of problems in various contexts using all of the methods mentioned above. This lesson is part of our Number Systems Bundle, which is 406+ pages and our 7th Grade Year Long Curriculum.
