Perfect for any classroom setup, this Thanksgiving-themed resource ensures that your students remain actively involved and challenged, without the hassle of pre-assigning groups. Station Scavenger Hunt problems can be used as task cards or IEP data probes.

How it works:

  1. Print the stations and hang them around the room.
  2. Print and copy the number of student recording sheets needed for your class(es)
  3. Students can start at ANY station. Their answer will tell them where to go next.
  4. When they have returned to the station they started at, they come to you and you can check their order.
  5. To check student work, simply ask them to say their order of stations and follow the rotation provided in the answer key! very easy to spot where they went wrong if there is a mistake!

Why Teachers Love It:

  • Flexible Use: Stations can be transformed into task cards for individual or small group work.
  • NO PREP: Students can start anywhere, so you don't have to spend less time on group logistics and you can spend more time on meaningful student interactions.

Standards

Solve multi-step real-life and mathematical problems posed with positive and negative rational numbers in any form (whole numbers, fractions, and decimals), using tools strategically. Apply properties of operations to calculate with numbers in any form; convert between forms as appropriate; and assess the reasonableness of answers using mental computation and estimation strategies. For example: If a woman making $25 an hour gets a 10% raise, she will make an additional 1/10 of her salary an hour, or $2.50, for a new salary of $27.50. If you want to place a towel bar 9 3/4 inches long in the center of a door that is 27 1/2 inches wide, you will need to place the bar about 9 inches from each edge; this estimate can be used as a check on the exact computation.
