A visual word wall helps students make meaning of math vocabulary through pictures and examples. After introducing new content vocabulary, the word wall should be used as a reference tool for students.

When deciding how to display the words, you are encouraged to group the words in ways that will help students form connections between words and topics. There is an example of how to display and group the words at the beginning of each chapter. The example could also be used as a handout for students.
