This was intended to prepare students for the 8th Grade Math STAAR Test. This product contains a review of the 8th Grade Objective 10 TEKS for Texas schools. At the top of each page, you will find the topic title with the TEK.
This resource contains 6 worksheets and a special activity. The following topics are covered:
•Understanding of transformations
•Study of which transformations preserve congruence
•Writing algebraic representations for transformations
•Effect on linear and area measurements when shapes are dilated.
The last page is a special activity called Smath’s Problem. This activity is a combination of all the transformations except dilations. It is a puzzle about how Dr. Smath has tracked mud through his house and how clues in the form of algebraic representations helps his apprentice (the student) figure out which door Dr. Smath exited.
