Description

DONUTS is a fun and engaging math game for people of all ages to play. My students always beg me to play the game.

  • The object of the game is to guess a mystery number in as few steps as possible.
  • Clues are given after each guess.
  • Throughout the game, students practice place value and critical thinking skills.

DONUTS is an excellent game to play any time throughout the year!

Included:

  • Detailed directions
  • Examples of the game
  • A poster for displaying the clues (optional) – (Available in both color and black and white)

This game can be played with the entire class, in small groups, or with a partner. It is best to play the game with the whole class until students become familiar with the rules.

Grade 2: Play using 2-digit numbers - whole group.

Towards the end of the year, play with 3-digit numbers - whole group.

My students loved this game. They worked in groups to strategize possible numbers. It was so exciting to watch them figure out the correct digits and place value.
