Description

S.T.E.M. activities may seem daunting when teaching young children. This is a STEM activity that I created for my students to do whenever we read the folk tale The Little Red Hen. I like to include literature, reading, and writing into my STEM activity so that I can incorporate it into my reading block if needed. There is so much that has to be taught, and so little time!

The Little Red needs to bring the flour home from the mill. Can you design and create something that will help The Little Red Hen carry the flour home by using paper, scissors, glue, staples, and paper clips?

You can choose to have your students use either unifix cubes to measure the models and count to 100 for another part of the activity, or use rulers to measure and count to 120.

Please download my free preview as it contains the unit in its entirety (minus the black-out lines).
