  • Learners will create a fictional social media post or profile page for any ONE of the below listed checkpoints needed for the regulation of the cell cycle.
    • G1 Checkpoint
    • G2 Checkpoint
    • M (Spindle) Checkpoint

The social media post or profile page should mimic (i.e., be created with a similar structure as) Twitter (now X), YouTube, or Facebook.

Learners will think about the chosen checkpoint as an individual with a social media presence. The post and/or profile should inform the followers of:

  • A description of the role of the selected checkpoint.
  • A description of what happens to a cell if it DOES NOT pass the checkpoint.
  • A description of what happens to a cell if it DOES pass the checkpoint.
  • A description of cyclins and cyclin-dependent kinases (Cdks).

Resource 16 – Short Film Project for AP Biology - Unit 6.3-6.4 (Transcription and RNA Processing, and Translation).

  • The Learners’ Goal: Create a short film of the listed AP Biology topic: Transcription & Translation (Unit 6)
    • Central Dogma
    • Transcription Process and Regulation
    • RNA processing
    • Translation Process
    • Mutations and their effects on proteins - Point mutations, Frameshift mutations, etc.
