Description

Build mastery with truth tables, AND/OR/NOT, De Morgan’s, comparisons, and conditionals in a fast, no-prep circuit. Students follow a fixed, scrambled route (e.g., 1 → 7 → 14 → … → 17 → back to 1)

What’s included

  • Teacher Kit (Circuit Self-Check) — circuit order, full answer key with written “why” for all 20 stations, printable station cards with “Check last” and “Next:” footers.
  • Teacher Kit (Circuit Teacher-Check) - have students finish the circuit, then turn it in so you can quickly check it.

  • Student Pack (Circuit Self-Check) — student directions, Log & Work Sheet with ✓/✗ column, Quick Answer Sheet for turn-in.

  • Format: Editable DOCX (easy to tweak fonts/text).
  • Time: 25–40 minutes • Pairs/triads • Devices not required.

Skills & objectives

  • Evaluate Boolean expressions; apply operator precedence (NOT > AND > OR).
  • Use De Morgan’s Law and core equivalences (incl. XOR).
  • Read multi-branch IF / ELSE IF / ELSE logic; justify with a one-line rationale.

Standards alignment (brief)

  • AP CSP Unit 4: control structures, Booleans, conditionals.
  • CSTA 3A-AP-13/14: design/evaluate algorithms; use control structures.

Teacher setup & printing

  • OPTIONAL: Print station cards single-sided; post around the room; stagger starts.
  • Give each student the Log & Work Sheet and Quick Answer Sheet.
  • Want alternate layouts (e.g., 2-per-page / 4-per-page cards or PDFs)? I can generate them to match your final text—just say the word.

Classroom flow (student-facing steps)

  1. On arrival, if answers are providedcheck the top line to self-grade the previous station (✓/✗).

  2. Go to the printed Next Station; continue until you return to your start.
    AP_CSP_Unit4_Boolean_Circuit_Te…

Differentiation & extensions

  • Color-code a few “challenge” cards; assign start numbers by readiness.
  • Require truth-table rows for 2–3 items as evidence, or a short equivalence proof.
