Description

In this activity students take most topics from AP Statistics Curriculum and sort it into 3 categories: Topics I know, Topics I need to study, and topics that still confuse me. The topics are color coded according to the CED unit and students have access to the CED via College Board while sorting their topic cards.

Why should I use it?

Having my students complete the activity for the first time guides my focus in the activities and homework assignments I use to help students prepare for Exam Prep in class. I compile a list of “Topics that Still Confuse Me” for each class and build my next few weeks of Exam prep specific to each class.

Completing this activity a second time gives each individual student a list of topics they need to study and practice before taking the AP Exam given by the College Board. It also facilitates our conversation of preparing for taking a standardized test I.E. “It is ok for you not to know 100% of the curriculum, our goal is to move some topics out of the Topics I Need to Study Column into the Topics I know Column”
