Description

Hello!

Units 6 and 7 on College Board's recommended sequence for AP Statistics covers inference procedures for proportions and means. Many students struggle through these units because there are a lot of tests to remember and it may be difficult to determine which procedures are appropriate to use. If this sounds like your students, this study guide is a great resource! You can provide this at the end of the unit as a study guide or in the beginning of the unit as a reference resource that students can use throughout the lessons. It goes through the steps for writing inference procedures, the test statistics for procedure, and a checklist for answering problems related to inference. It will be a holy grail for the whole unit. It's also useful to keep on hand for yourself, in case you need a refresher as well. I hope you find this handy!

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Understand statistics as a process for making inferences about population parameters based on a random sample from that population.
Decide if a specified model is consistent with results from a given data-generating process, e.g., using simulation. For example, a model says a spinning coin falls heads up with probability 0.5. Would a result of 5 tails in a row cause you to question the model?
Recognize the purposes of and differences among sample surveys, experiments, and observational studies; explain how randomization relates to each.
