Description
Help your students crush their AP Stats exam review by introducing or reviewing all TI-84 Plus CE inference calculator functions with this Inference Review Stations activity before the AP Exam (for confidence intervals and significance tests).
This activity familiarizes your students with the most time-efficient approaches to answering inference questions, which can be a huge help while completing multiple-choice or free-response questions. Time is a HUGE factor during the AP Exam, and using calculator functions can save valuable time!
"This is a must-do exam prep activity for my students!"
All questions allow students to assume that the conditions for inference have been met, so they can solely focus on using their calculators to quickly get to an answer.
- Try before you buy! This free sample includes 4 of the 15 stations.
There are 15 stations, covering:
Finding a confidence interval for...
- a single proportion
- a difference in proportions
- a single mean
- a difference in means
- a mean difference
- slope*
Performing significance tests for...
- a single proportion
- a difference in proportions
- a single mean
- a difference in means
- a mean difference
- Chi-square GOF
- Chi-Square test for homogeneity
- Chi-square test for independence
- slope*
Students are asked to find and interpret confidence intervals or to determine if there is convincing evidence of a claim, assuming the conditions for inference have been met.
⭐️An inference calculator functions cheat sheet is also included with tips specific to the TI-84 Plus CE model.⭐️
✅ Compatible Calculators:
- This cheat sheet was designed with steps that best match the TI-84 Plus CE calculator model, but will still work well with older TI-84 or TI-83 models (except Chi-Square GOF not being on some older models).
❌ Incompatible Calculators:
- Casio graphing calculators
- TI-nspire, TI-89, or TI-73 calculators
*Instead of providing tips of how to utilize the slope inference functions on the TI-84 Plus calculator, tips are included about how to use the computer output that will be provided with any regression problem on the AP Exam since using the computer output is far more time-efficient than attempting to use the graphing calculator's inference functions for slope.
