Using a high interest token board or a “Token Economy,” is a great way to motivate students. When the reward they are earning is high interest, you are likely to get more buy-in and will be able to reduce behaviors and increase engagement in your classroom. I’ve taken this concept one step further to make individualized, interest-based token boards. Your students will enjoy the whole positive behavior strategy as even the process reflects their personalities!

If you are new to using high interest token boards, they are common in special education classrooms and are used for children who need to see their progress in order to stay on task. I've included the process on how to use them effectively in the resource!

High Interest Token Boards are especially effective for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability, Emotional Disturbance, ADHD or for neurotypical children who are young and learning how to focus like pre-k, preschool, TK, and Kindergarten.
