Overview of the 3-Day Lesson:
Day 1 – Taking Notes:
Students watch a short video on how to make snickerdoodle cookies and practice taking detailed, step-by-step notes. The day ends with a quick class share-out and discussion about what makes notes effective.
Day 2 – Processing & Connecting Thinking:
Students review the processing phase of Focused Note-Taking, starting with a warm-up question, then working with partners to refine and add to their notes. They’ll re-watch the video, transfer their notes to a flow chart, and complete an optional gallery walk and exit ticket.
Day 3 – Applying Learning:
Students apply what they’ve learned by creating their own cookie recipe, using a new note format on a recipe card to show understanding of the FNT process in a creative way.

- Interactive note-taking lessons
- Hands-on learning with real-world application
