Description
Students will code an animation in Scratch to share more about who they are and what interests them. Each project should include at least 3 facts, one photo of the student, and one photo of something that interests them.
This project introduces students to Scratch programming basics, like:
- Make an account
- Explore other users' projects and remix them
- Create a new project
- Add images and sounds
- Make an object move
- Control object's movement through logic and repeat loops
This project is a great way to start for students new to programming or to refresh returning programming students at the start of the year. Students will love that they can add in their own media and creativity. Each project will be unique to each student!
For returning programming students, this project will take about 8-10 hours, depending on how much they've already learned about writing code and how much they remember. There are video tutorials for students to refresh on skills.
For complete beginner students, this project will take about 12-15 hours because they will need more time to learn programming skills. The video tutorials are great introductions for students to watch at their own pace or for the instructor to watch and present to students in short demos.
