This is a template for the About-Point strategy. The About-Point strategy is a tool used to guide students towards picking out what is important in a text and then being able to summarize the pertinent information collected.

This template could be used in content (social studies or science) classes to take notes or respond to a text read in class. For an English or language arts class, this template could be used with text to practice summaries/main idea and picking out details to support the summary/main idea. This strategy and template could also be used when researching.
