Absolute Value Equations Activity-Partner Practice Riddle Worksheet-Fall Season

Algebra 2/Precalculus/College Algebra

This printable partner riddle activity will enable your students to practice solving absolute value equations through collaborative learning. The resource file type is PDF. The riddle's theme is 'fall' season. There are 8 questions for each partner - total count 16. The worksheet is formatted to allow reasonable work space for students.

Equations vary in difficulty. There are questions with variable on one side as well as variables on both sides. Answers involve one solution and special solutions:

(no solution & extraneous solutions that must be rejected)

Each partner must choose 1 question from each round. Partners must take turns when choosing. Optional - You may want to have your students write their name on questions they select for grading/feedback purposes.

Alternatively, rather than choosing, one partner can solve the questions located on the left hand side while the other partner works on the right side.

Although partners will be solving different absolute value equations, they must have 1 matching number within their solutions in each round. Once partners determine the matching solution, they must check the answer bank, locate that answer and write the corresponding letter in the small box provided with each question. In the end, the answer for the fall-themed riddle will be revealed.

Single license - for personal use or teacher use.
