This is an introductory painting project where students learn about the Abstract style and then attempt to recreate it using a combination of coloured pencil, pastel, and paint.

This project includes:

• An in-depth Slideshow (.ppt file) to introduce Abstract Art (with lots of visual examples!)
• A video on Abstract Art to increase understanding (link in Introductory Doc)
• An in-class assignment on recreating Abstract lines and Shapes (.doc and .pdf files)
• A project handout (.doc and .pdf files) that introduces the assignment and provides step-by-step instruction
• A complete rubric (.doc and .pdf files) for easy feedback to assess student learning
