This single sheet has so much use in my classroom! I originally created it for my 4th graders and still currently use it with my 2nd graders (though only the GATE students). This is a great tool for the teacher and students.

I start off by identifying GATE/high achieving students. I explain what research is and show them how to complete it online using Google and Google Slides. I also give them the option to use books. I guide them through a simple creation of a research presentation and then go over this form with them. Within a few weeks they become experts (seriouslyyy!) at researching any topic. They complete this accountability sheet to get their topic of interest approved and the reports just flow in. This is great at extending their knowledge and a check-in system for GATE students plus they absolutely love this and so do those helicopter parents.
