How to use: Show students the first slide of the problem set. Ask them the guiding questions to get them thinking about what the question is asking. Numbers will slowly be added. Talk about the new information on each slide. Progress through the slides until you get to the last slide to solve. You can use the attached student materials to help support struggling learners. At the end of a unit or lesson use the “quick check” as an exit ticket. You can project it on the board or print out for each student.
Matrix- Use the matrix to help you decide which problem you want to work on depending on which standard you are working on.
Student Slide Show- Use the student slide show to project the slides to your class. If you do not have a projector you can print and make student books.
Prompting Guide- Each set has a prompting guide. Ask the questions that go with each slide to your students. Feel free to add in your own questions. The purpose if to get students thinking about and identifying what they know.
Quick Check- use this as a formative assessment to see what your students have mastered.
Digital Tracker- Use this tracker to keep track of your students success on each exit ticket. That way you have a guide for your intervention and re-teach groups.
Problem Solving Sheet- Use this sheet to give your students structure in order to take notes and record their thinking.
Rubric- use the rubric to help grade your students problem solving.
Student Resources- Give these to your students to provide scaffold support.
