Description

This assignment will provide instant feedback and some guidance for students as they practice factoring 1st and 2nd-degree binomials with integer coefficients. Students are able to correct missteps so all can have success. This gold version provides differing problems for students.

Factors are entered into the spreadsheet. If all factors are correct, the factored form of the expression will appear is green. If not, the problem number will turn red and helpful hints may appear.

The spreadsheet checks that:

Factors are correct.

If the leading coefficient is negative, the monomial factor is negative.

Coefficients of 1 are not shown, just x or -x.

Percent grades are tallied as students work through the sheet, including:

Points for Student ID, name, and period.

Points for the first three problems - meant to be used as examples.

Points for adding a comment for the teacher at the bottom.
